Come On, Steve

Fun fact, Steve Cohen (D-TN) -- when Sarah Palin said criticism of her constituted a "blood libel"? That wasn't a license for open season on the term. Blech.

Well, branding unacceptable Ms. Palin's use of the phrase "blood libel" was morally offensive. But, of course, what is good for the goose is good for the gander. It even appears that Rep. Cohen has doubled down on what Ms. Palin did.

Be that as it may, it is high time for the pundits to give some distance for people - which includes politicians - to be able to express themselves without fear that the thought police will issue brand them unacceptable. That would be all for the best.

I think there should be a limited time in which it's OK to use "blood libel" in reference to things Palin says, just to mock her own use of the term.
